Rose Kheer(Rose Milk Payasam), Preparation of Rose milk Kheer using Sabudana and Rose Essence without rice, Navratri Naivedyam, or Fasting ka Khana Recipe. This Payasam suits all the occasions, like Traditional aadi Paal Payasam. Today Navratri Day 8 Colour is Pink. Instead of adding Pink Food Colour, I made the Rose kheer with Rose Essence. kheer(Payasam in Tamil) is basically an Indian version of dessert made with Sabudhana(sago), whole milk, sugar, nuts, and spices. This is the South Indian Version of Rose Sabudhana Kheer made with rose essence.

Instead Rice we can replace SABUDANA FOR making Rose khee:

Sabudana can give a fast energy boost, be Gluten-free, Improves digestion. It is a good filling for the Stomach and heart. That’s why we prefer Sabudana is the best on the fasting days.

STEP BY STEP PREPARATION OF SABUDHANA ROSE KHEER, ROSE MILK PAYASAM:

Take 1/4 cup sabudhana in a colander and wash under running cold water. Make sure to remove all the starch. Then soak in the water for 3-4 hours or overnight. (depending on the type and quality of the sabudhana, soaking time may vary.) 

Boil 1 & 1/2 cups of Thick full cream Milk + 1/4 cup of sugar + a generous pinch of cardamom powder. Boil well for 5 to 6 mins.

add 2 to 3 drops of Rose essence I used colorless rose essence you can use rose syrup also. mix well. add the sabudana and cook it till it turns transparent and glossy.

Finally, add some rose petals and chopped pistachios and garnish them.

Garnishing is completely optional, you can add ghee roasted cashews or almonds too.

Yummy Creamy and Tasty Rose Kheer are ready to serve.

My Notes:

  • Soaking the sago helps you for quick cooking. If you are using the small variety,then no need to soak for long just soak it just for 10 minutes and add it.
  • You can use condensed milk instead normal milk. In that case skip sugar.
  • You can add any nuts of your choice.
