Easy Ada Pradhaman Recipe(with caramel)-Onam Sadya 2016

Ada Pradhaman Recipe-Kerala Style. Rice Ada(Rice Pasta) made in Jaggery and Coconut milk. Traditional Kerala style Ada Pradhaman calls for Jaggery. Just for a change I skipped jaggery and used the caramel sauce to make this payasam. Caramel Payasam with Ada tastes delicious. Kerala Payasam is always my favourite. We can make the Caramel Sauce at home. But I have used the Store bought Caramel Sauce. Even Ada also I have used the store bought. This is the Rice Ada (rice pasta) I use to make Ada Pradhaman. Disclaimer: am not selling any product here just sharing what brand I have used. pic source rice_ada

You can make ada at home also.  Extract the coconut milk reserves the first thick milk and then extract the second milk and third milk. For Ada Paradhaman made with jaggery, make the jaggery syrup and then add the soaked ada and cook it with thin coconut milk and then with the second and the third coconut milk. the same step I have followed instead jaggery I have used the caramel sauce.

Step by step Ada Pradhaman Recipe,

Soak Ada in Hot water for 10-15 min. once the ada becomes soft drain the water and use it for making Ada Pradhaman.

Roast the Cashew nuts to golden brown in ghee and keep aside.

Boil water in a pan and then add the caramel sauce. Adjust Sweet if you want to add Sugar then add it.

Add the Soaked without water and mix well with the caramel. Add the first thin coconut milk and let the ada cook well in the coconut milk and Ada mix.

Once the ada cooked well add the thick  coconut milk, cardamom powder, and roasted cashew nuts. Let it cook once it turns thick Remove it from the flame. Serve hot or cold Ada Pradhaman.

Ingredients
  • ½ cup rice ADA (rice pasta)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp caramel sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sugar(optional)
  • 1 cup thick coconut milk
  • 1 & ½ cup thin coconut milk
  • ⅓ tsp cardamom powder
Instructions
