How to make Gulab Jamun using Instant Gulab jamun mix

Ingredients
  • 100g gulab jamun mix
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • oil/ghee for frying
  • for sugar syrup
  • 250g sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ tsp cardamom
  • few drops rose water
Instructions
  1. Take 1 cup water boil it. Into the Boiling water add 250g sugar(i used Brown Sugar). Add ¼ tsp cardamom powder, few drops of rose water. Once the water turns the sticky switch off the stove.
  2. I took 100g Instant Gulab jamun Mix, Sieve it. There are a lot of milk solids that will be there to sieve it before use. Add 3 to 4 tbsp milk. Add it little by little and mix it.
  3. The dough will be sticky don't get panic. This is the right consistency. After mixing dough rest it for 15 mins. After 15 mins grease your hand and roll it into crack-free balls.
  4. Heat oil or ghee fry the balls. Add in batches and fry in medium flame. Keep rolling the balls until they turn golden. Once it turns golden remove it from oil.

  6. Step: 4 drops the fried Jamun into the sugar syrup. Let them soak overnight or at least 5 hours. Gulab Jamun is ready!
Notes
For 100g packet, we will get 10 to 15 gulab jamuns.

Step By Step Gulab Jamun Making Procedures,

SUGAR SYRUP:

Tips and Tricks to make Perfect Gulab Jamuns, No cracks free Gulab Jamuns. 

3 golden rules for perfect gulab jamuns

No.1 add the correct amount of liquid not more than 4 tbsp for 100g of gulab jamuns mix. Give 15 mins resting time not more than that.

No.2 Don’t press hard and make the ball make a smooth ball and crack free balls by greasing the hand.

No.3 the syrup and the Jamun must be warm while soaking not very hot or cold.

If you follow these three rules you will perfect Gundu Gundu Gulab Jamuns. If in case it fails what to do. Here are the Simple Samalifications listed below. 

How to rectify if fails,

  1. In case you have added too much water, the mix becomes watery. Add a tbsp milk powder. Don’t add maida or any flour (it will turn hard) to correct it. Keep in the fridge for an hour and then fry on low flame.
  2. If cracks in balls while frying, grease your hand with ghee and redo the balls gently and make smooth balls and then fry it. Don’t press the balls while making it will let the balls crack on top. 
  3. After soaking the balls not becomes double size, 2 reasons,
  4. We have not given proper resting time.
  5. Both the Jamun and Syrup should be warm if one is cold, Also the Jamun will not become double in size.
  6. To rectify this heat up the syrup again and add the balls when it is warm
  7. If the Jamun becomes very soggy and it is dissolving in the syrup(the reason we may give more resting time or we put it in hot sugar syrup), Remove the balls from the syrup and keep them in the fridge. It will become dry. Just before serving add syrup and serve.
