Kothu parotta recipe is made with Readymade Wheat Parotta, not with the leftover Parotta. Minced parotta is tossed with Loads of Healthy Vegetables and Indian Spices. Kothu Chappathi Recipe which is shared recently is super hit among my Insta friends. Kothu Idiyappam recipe is another one delicious breakfast that everyone loves to make. Madurai Special Dish Idyappam Kothu is very familiar among South Indians. I have shared Madurai Kari Dosai, Jigarthanda, and many Madurai famous dishes in the veg version.

Feeling bored of having the same old Idli and Dosai do try this way of Making Parotta Kothu a healthy and also kids love it because of the color of the Kothu Parotta. Barotta is the Name of the Parotta in Tamil or Paratha in Hindi. Kothu is Minced so Kothu Parotta is Minced Parotta. Usually, Parotta Side dish will be KurmaSalna will be served but for this Kothu Parotta no need any special side dish it can be served with simple raita or as it is.

Making the Kothu Parotta with ready frozen wheat parotta with lots of vegetables like Tamil style. Homemade kothu parotta is always hygienic and healthy. a very good recipe for evening snacks. just scrambled the parotta and quickly add in the vegetables, finally, you will get a super delicious kothu parotta how we get it in hotels. do try this recipe am sure you love it.

Ingredients
  • 3 Parotta(i used frozen parotta)/ பரோட்டா
  • 1 tsp oil/எண்ணெய்
  • 1-inch cinnamon stick/இலவங்கப்பட்டை
  • 2 cloves/கிராம்பு
  • 1 medium-sized onion chopped finely/வெங்காயம்
  • 1 cup mined tomatoes/தக்காளி
  • 2 tbsp fresh or frozen green peas/பச்சை பட்டாணி
  • few curry leaves/கறிவேப்பிலை
  • 2 green chili/பச்சை மிளகாய்
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste/இஞ்சி பூண்டு விழுது
  • ⅓ tsp Tumeric powder/மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 1 tsp chili powder/மிளகாய் தூள்
  • 1 tsp coriander powder/கொத்தமல்லி தூள்
  • 1 tsp salt
  • coriander leaves for garnishing/கொத்துமல்லி தழை
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped onions for garnishing/அழகுபடுத்த வெங்காயம்
  • 1 tsp lemon juice/எலுமிச்சை சாறு
Instructions
  1. First, take the parotta(toast it if it is frozen) and tear roughly into pieces and add these pieces into the processor and process it for a second.
  2. you will get the minced parotta(this is called parotta kothu), keep aside.
  3. finely chop the onion, tomatoes, green chili, chop vegetables and cook the green peas if you are using the fresh one, keep all ingredients ready.
  4. Now make the basic gravy for the Kothu parotta, heat oil in a Kadai, add cinnamon stick, cloves.
  5. add onion, tomatoes, green chili, curry leaves saute till translucent.
  6. Add turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. saute till raw smell goes off.
  7. add the cooked green peas add ½ cup water let it boil for a min or it forms a thick gravy.
  8. now gravy ready, add in the minced chapati and mix well with the gravy. Toss for few mins and then switch off the stove.
  9. Mined parotta/Kothu parotta/கொத்து பரோட்டா/veg Kothu chapati is ready to serve.
Notes
chop all the vegetables finely. since it is kothu parotta if all should be chopped finely and added.
cook green peas and add to the curry. if it is frozen no need for pre-cooking.
adjust the spice level and salt according to your tastebuds.

Kothu Parotta with salna

serve it with vegetable kurma or salna or simply as it is. It’s good to have it like a snack or Breakfast.

Serving suggestions for Kothu parotta:
Top some chopped onions, coriander leaves on veg Kothu parotta. Squeeze little lime juice over it just before serving.
This will take like Restaurant style Kothu parotta.
