Onion Chutney Recipe, Periya Vengaya Chutney with Coconut:
- 1 medium-sized onion chopped roughly
- 3 dry red chili(adjust according to your tastebuds)
- 1 gooseberry sized tamarind
- 1-2 tbsp grated coconut
- 1 tsp Salt
- Heat gingerly oil in a pan and add onion, dry red chili, tamarind roast well, till the onion turns golden. Remove it to a plate.
- Add the coconut and roast well. remove it to a plate.
- Take a mixie jar to add the roasted coconut first grind it with salt and little water.
- Now add the roasted onion, chili, and tamarind, grind it to a smooth paste. Temper with mustard seeds, urad dal n curry leaves tada✋ chutney ready
Adjust the chili according to your spice level
I used Big onion(Periya Vengayam) you can try with Shallots also.
