Simple Onion chutney recipe, perfect vengaya chutney recipe, side dish for idli dosa, in easy steps union Chutney with coconut is one of the quickest and easiest chutney recipes I make often.

Ingredients
  • 1 medium-sized onion chopped roughly
  • 3 dry red chili(adjust according to your tastebuds)
  • 1 gooseberry sized tamarind
  • 1-2 tbsp grated coconut
  • 1 tsp Salt
Instructions
  1. Heat gingerly oil in a pan and add onion, dry red chili, tamarind roast well, till the onion turns golden. Remove it to a plate.
  2. Add the coconut and roast well. remove it to a plate.
  3. Take a mixie jar to add the roasted coconut first grind it with salt and little water.
  4. Now add the roasted onion, chili, and tamarind, grind it to a smooth paste. Temper with mustard seeds, urad dal n curry leaves tada‚úč chutney ready
Notes
Roast the onion, chili, and tamarind in medium heat don't burn it.
Adjust the chili according to your spice level
I used Big onion(Periya Vengayam) you can try with Shallots also.

Vengaya Chutney recipe
