Vazhakkai Kola Urundai Kuzhambu recipe, How to make Vazhakkai Kola Urundai
- ⅓ cup of moong dal
- 2 tbsp roasted gram dal powder it in mixie
- 2 raw banana
- 1-inch cinnamon,
- 3 cloves
- 1 green chili,
- curry leaves,
- 2-inch ginger,
- 8 garlic pods,
- 1 medium-sized onion,
- ½ tsp fennel seeds
- add ½ tsp salt,
- ½ tsp chili powder,
- ⅓ tsp turmeric powder
- For kuzhambu
- 1 tbsp oil,
- 1-inch cinnamon,
- 3 cloves,
- 1 tsp cumin seeds,
- 3 dried red chilies,
- curry leaves, black stone flower
- a small lemon sized tamarind in ½ cup water
- 1 medium-sized onion
- 1 tomato
- 3 brinjal,
- 1 drumstick
- ½ cup water,
- 2 tbsp coriander powder,
- 2 tsp chili powder
- ⅓ tsp turmeric powder,
- ½ tsp salt,
- Soak ⅓ cup of moong dal for 30 mins. Soak a small lemon sized tamarind in ½ cup water and extract the juice. Take 2 tbsp roasted gram dal powder it in mixie and keep aside. Into a steamer, cut the raw banana into 2 and steam it. Once steamed, cool down completely and then peel the skin. Into a processor or mixer, add 1-inch cinnamon, 3 cloves, 1 green chili, curry leaves, soaked dal, 2-inch ginger, 8 garlic pods, 1 medium-sized onion, ½ tsp fennel seeds, grind them into a coarse paste, add ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp chili powder, ⅓ tsp turmeric powder, roasted gram dal powder mix well. Make small balls out of it. divide the balls some for kuzhambu some for frying. You can air fry the ball in an air fryer or deep fry or bake.
- For kuzhambu, steam the balls. Keep aside. Heat a Kadai with 1 tbsp oil, add 1-inch cinnamon, 3 cloves, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 3 dried red chilies, curry leaves, black stone flower, fry well. Add 1 medium-sized onion & 1 tomato fry well. Add 3 brinjal, 1 drumstick, fry well. Cover and cook till the vegetables turn soft. Add reserved tamarind extract, ½ cup water, 2 tbsp coriander powder, 2 tsp chili powder. ⅓ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp salt, mix well. Let it boil for 5 to 8 mins till the raw smell goes off. Finally, add the steamed kola urundai, let it cook in kuzhambu for 5 more mins & then switch off the stove. Kola urundai Kuzhambu ready.
Step by Step Vazhakkai Kola Urundai Kuazhambu recipe,
Let make Kola Urundai first,

Transfer it to the preheated air fryer basket. Air fry at 180 degrees C for 15minutes or until crispy. Shake the basket halfway through cooking. Once done, let it sit for 2 minutes in the air fryer. Kola Uurndais are ready to serve!!
