“Keerai” is the Tamil word called spinach in English. Vadai is the one of the most addictive snack invented by Tamilian in Tamil Nadu. Later people started calling as vada. Vadai can be prepared in various types like Urad dal vada is Ulundu Vadai aka Methu Vadai, cabbage Vadai, Masala Vadai and so on. Step By Step Keerai Vadai Recipe with Murungai Keerai,
- Wash and Soak Channa dal (Kadalai Paruppu) in water at least for 2 hours and then drain the water completely add it to the mixie jar. Take a Tbsp of Soaked chana dal from the jar and reserve it for later use.
- Add the dry red chilly(i have added only 3 if you want you can adjust according to your taste buds) and Salt. (My mom will add a tsp of Saunf while grinding for extra flavour but I skipped here if you want you can add it) Grind it to a coarse batter without adding the water.
- Take the Ground dal in a bowl, add chopped onions, chopped garlic, chopped Murungai Keerai and then finally add the reserved dal, mix well.
- Make small balls out of the batter and then pat it. Heat the oil and fry it.
- Heat the oil and fry it. Flip the other side and fry it. Make sure that the both side fried evenly.
- Once the Keerai Vadai turns golden and crisp then remove it from the stove. Now the Keerai Vadai is Ready to Serve.

- 3 dry red chilly
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 medium sized onion, chopped
- 3 garlic pods, chopped
- ½ cup Murungai Keerai Chopped(drumstick leaves)
- oil for frying
