Aloo Chana Chaat Recipe is a gluten free street food recipe which you can make a quick and healthy evening snack for your kids. I rarely have chaat and make at home but for some occasion, this should be on our menu too.Skip onion in this recipe if you want it to make no onion and no garlic version of Aloo chana chaat. This chaat is made of vellai kondaikadalai in Tamil and छोले in Hindi.
To make Aloo chana chaat(spicy chickpea potato chat), you need perfectly boiled chana and potatoes. we have to boil the chana perfectly, it should not be mushy and half boiled, it should soft if you touch in hands. How to make Aloo chana chaat(spicy chickpea potato chat) recipe, Step by step procedure:
soak the chana overnight and then boil it with enough water. Add 1/2 tsp salt while boiling. Boil the potato peels the skin and mash it. Chop onion, green chillies and keep ready.
Take a big plate or bowl add the cooked chana, potatoes, onion, coriander and green chillies. Add lime juice, salt, chaat masala and mix well. Let it soak for 15 minutes.
While serving, place the prepared aloo chana mixture on a plate, add the chaat chutneys and set on top, serve it.I have used the nylon sev to make this aloo chana chaat.
Aloo chana chaat recipe below:
- 1 cup boiled chickpeas/Kabuli chana
- 1 cup potatoes (aloo) boiled peeled/mashed
- 1 medium sized onion
- 2 teaspoons green chili finely chopped
- ¼ teaspoon red chili powder(optional)
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- a Pinch chaat masala
- For Garnishing
- 1 tsp green chutney(mint chutney)
- 1 tsp tamarind date chutney
- 2 tbsp sev
- 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander
