Mysore Bonda Recipe, Ulundu Bonda Video Recipe

Mysore bonda or Pepper Bonda or ulundu bonda is a popular South Indian fried snack .These are round fritters made from urad dal/black gram.My mother is an expert in making crispy bondas. Today I am going to share with you the secret of making crispy and tasty bondas. These are quite similar to medu vada except for the fresh coconut pieces that go into the batter and the shape. the coconut pieces give a good texture and bite in the otherwise soft bonda. They are easy to prepare, but like medu vada, care should be taken, that less water is added while grinding the urad dal. These are also no onion no garlic snack as well. Another similar no onion no garlic snack is cabbage vada. These are quite similar to medu vada except for the fresh coconut pieces that go into the batter and the shape. the coconut pieces give a good texture and bite in the otherwise soft bonda. they are easy to prepare, but like medu vada, care should be taken, that less water is added while grinding the ulundu.

5.Heat oil in a kadai, when it is hot, keep it in medium flame.
6.Wet your fingers in the water, take a little batter, shape it into a ball and gently drop it into the oil. (use your thumb to gently push the ball shaped batter into the oil)
6.Fry both sides till golden brown and remove it in a colander or a kitchen towel to drain off excess oil.
