Similar to Indian Masala Chai, it is very strong chai uses aromatic spices,herbs and milk. Though Karak Chai orginated from India, in dubai we can get it even in Highways(taste better than in restro). Secret behind the Karak chai they uses the evoparated milk/fresh milk(should be thick) to make Chai. It looks strong, creamy and delicious.
To make Karak chai there is no limit of adding the spices we increase or decrease the level according to our taste buds. Acctually i have noticed while making the karak chai that they ground the fresh spices and keep in jars know as karha (The Karha may include: Tea leaves, Allspice, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger root, Honey, Nutmeg, Peppercorn, Star anise, Vanilla and other spices). Whenever they make chai they will add that Karah and grated ginger they will boil it.
Not like other chai the boiling time of spices in water is more so that we will get strong Tea. The difference between Karak chai and Masala Chai is that Karak chai is strong, creamy and n number of spices and herbs used.

Step by step Karak Chai recipe:
- Add water to a saucepan and let it boil.
- Add grated ginger, cinnamon, peppercorns, cloves and cardamom, let it boil.
- simmer the stove and boil for a minute.Add tea leaves or Tea powder,boil it.
- Turn off the heat and cover the tea and rest it for 2 mins.
Now again turn on the stove
- add the milk (you can add fresh and sugar mix well.
- Strain the tea into a glass or cup.
- Refreshing Karak chai is ready to serve.
Recipe Card for the Karak Chai Recipe:
- ½ cup water(Paani)
- 1 cup milk(Thoth)(fresh milk)
- 1 tbsp tea leaves(i used black tea powder)
- 1 tsp cardamom powder or 2-3 crushed cardamom(ilaayachee)
- 1 clove(laung)
- 1 small piece cinnamon(daalacheenee)
- 1 small piece ginger(adarak)
- 2 pepper corns(kali mirchi)
- 1 tbsp sugar or as per taste
- Add water to a saucepan and let it boil.
