Pudina Rice Recipe

Pudina Rice:


 Rice 2 cups
Tomatoes 2
 Ginger-Garlic Paste 2 tsp

Green Chillies 4-5 
 Onion 1, finely chopped
Cinnamon Stick 1
Cloves 2
 Cardamom 1, crushed
 Mint Leaves (Pudina) 1 cup
 Ghee 2 tsp
Green peas 1/4 cup
Fennel powder 1 tsp

 Oil 3 tsp

Method of Preparation:

First, soak the rice in water for about half an hour. In the meanwhile, blend pudina , green chillies and Tomatoes to make a fine paste. Keep the paste aside.
Once soaked, strain the water from the rice and spread it in a plate.
Now, take a pan and heat oil in it.
Add cinnamon stick, cloves,cardamon into it.
Sauté them for a while and then add the chopped onion. Fry until the onions turn translucent. Now, add the ginger –garlic paste ,Green peas and sauté for another two minutes.
 Add the blended mixture in the pan and add fennel powder,ghee in it
Once the raw smell goes out transfer it into the rice cooker and add rice and water into it.
While cooking itself you can smell the nice flavour of pudina.
 Serve hot Pudina Rice with raita.
