Honey Chilli Chana recipe, Chilli Chana recipe card:
- 1.5 cups chana, Kabuli chana, soaked, boiled with salt
- 2-3 tbsp Corn Flour
- 1 tbsp rice Flour
- Water (for soaking & Boiling chana chunks)
- Oil - to deep fry
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 3-4 tbsp Garlic, finely chopped
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- ¼ cup Capsicum
- 1 tbsp Sriracha / Chili Sauce
- 1 tsp Soya Sauce
- 1 tbsp Ketchup
- 1 tsp Vinegar
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Black pepper powder
- 1 tsp Sugar
- few Greens of Spring Onion
- Soak chana for about 8 hours or overnight in water. boil the chana with 1 tsp salt.
- Once it becomes soft switch off the stove and drains the water completely. Squeeze the water completely from the chana and keep aside.
- chana should be dry.
- Add a tbsp of cornflour coat + rice flour well with the chana. This is the first coat and mixes well.
- Add one more tbsp of cornflour coat again. Now the soya chunks are well coated with cornflour.
- Heat the oil deep fry the chana until they turn crisp. repeat this process for remaining chana fry and keep aside.
- Now let's make the sauce, heat oil in a pan, add the finely chopped garlic, green chili, onion, and bell pepper saute well.
- add the sauces like red chili sauce, tomato ketchup, soya sauce, vinegar and mix well.
- add the salt, sugar, pepper powder, mix well. Switch off the stove.
- Now add in the fried chana and mix well. Make sure that the sauces well coated with the chana.
- Finally, add the honey and mix well.
- Garnish it with spring onions and roasted sesame seeds and serve.
drain the water completely from the boiled chana otherwise, it will suck more oil. This is a very important step to follow.
Double Coating of chana is needed. otherwise, chana won’t turn crips in a single coating of cornflour so make sure that you are coating it 2 times.
One more important step before adding the fried chana to the sauce switch off the stove and then add it, otherwise the sauce turns dry it will not coat evenly with the soy chana.
Adding roasted sesame seeds will give crunchy taste don’t skip it.

IMPORTANT NOTES TO MAKE PERFECTLY CRISPY CRUNCHY HONEY CHILLI CHANA RECIPE:
- Don’t Cook the chana too much. otherwise, it will turn mushy.
- drain the water completely from the boiled chana otherwise, it will suck more oil. This is a very important step to follow.
