Methi Pulao or Methi Rice or Fenugreek Riceis the one easy variety rice recipe which you can make it under 30 mins. It is excellent lunch box menu that kids would love to have. Ghee methi Pulao is the not like the normal pulao which we make, addition of ghee gives nice flavour to the rice and taking it in lunch time kids won’t feel so dry and no other side dish require to have this methi pulao. Few days back I made this Methi Pulao with Punjabi dum aloo. Total Family love this rice and then decided to make few methi recipes confidently. Aloo recipes in Prema’s Culinary.

Methi Leaves have a lot of health benefits at the same time nowadays we are not getting the fresh leaves without pests so we need to clean them properly before we cook them.  Chop the roots and the thick stems off the bunch of Fenugreek Leaves. Wash well and finely chop the rest. Sprinkle a generous amount of Salt on the leaves, mix and keep aside for 15-20 minutes. This helps you to make the methi away from pest and gems.

How to make Methi Pulao step by step instructions:

methi PulaoWash the Rice well and soak in some water and keep aside for a while.Heat ghee in a pan and add in the cinnamon and cloves fry for a while and then add the onion, fry well. Now add the ginger garlic paste and fry well. Add the methi leaves, turmeric powder and salt mix well.

methi pulaoAdd the rice and remaining ghee mix well. Switch off  the stove. Transfer the rice into the cooker and add water , cook it, only done finally garnish it with coriander leaves serve it.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 medium sized onions
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup methi leaves,
  • a pinch turmeric powder
  • salt as needed
Instructions
  1. Wash the Rice well and soak in some water and keep aside for a while.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan and add in the cinnamon and cloves fry for a while and then add the onion, fry well. Now add the ginger garlic paste and fry well.
  3. Add the methi leaves, turmeric powder and salt mix well.
  4. Add the rice and remaining ghee mix well. Switch off the stove.
  5. Transfer the rice into the cooker and add water , cook it, only done finally garnish it with coriander leaves serve it.
Notes
If you didn't get the fresh methi leaves you can add the dry methi.
You can add veggies along with methi leaves to make it more heatlhy
