Kang Kong Keerai Curry

 



Ingredients:

Medium bunches of kang kong keerai
1 tsp jeera
1/2 cup mysore dhall
1 small onion chopped
1 chopped green chilli
1 tomato chopped
2 garlic cloves chopped
1/3 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp oil
salt to taste

Method:
Wash and drain the keerai and keep aside.

In a pressure cooker add the keerai,dhall,tomato,garlic,salt ,turmeric powder and 1/2 cup water,cook it upto 2-3 whistles.Meanwhile in a pan heat the oil ,fry the onion and chilli,keep aside.Once the keerai cooked well transfer the tempering into the keerai.Serve with rice.It’s a nice combination with roti/dosa/idly also.

    Thanks for ur comments.Kang kong is a kind of spinach.It is more commonly called water spinach.Dont know the tamil name, i brought it from the wet market.It is available almost in all the supermarkets in sg.
