Mango Thokku
Home made Mango thokku  is always taste awesome compare to store bought.No Preservatives and artificial coloring.Freshly ground spice gives nice flavor to the pickle. Home made always the best.Here is the Mango thokku recipe.

Ingredients:Mango Thokku
2 cups grated Mango
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/4 cup Sesame Oil
Salt as Needed

To Ground
10 Dry Red Chillies
1/2 tsp Methi seeds
1 tsp Mustard seeds

To Temper
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 tsp Urad Dal
A generous Pinch Hing

Method: 

Mango Thokku

  •   Dry roast the grinding ingredients and then ground it into fine powder.

Mango Thokku

  • Peel the mango skin and grate it.Heat oil in a pan and then add the tempering ingredients and then temper it.Wait till the mustard seeds splutter.

Mango Thokku

  • Now add in the grated mango,ground powder,turmeric powder and salt.Cover and cook till the mango become soft and mushy.Once the oil leaves at the top remove it from the stove.

My Notes: 

  • Choose the sour mango which is good for pickling. 
  • I didn’t add any preservative so the self life is very less.If you store it in fridge you can keep it for a month or two.
