Stuffed Buns

Stuffed buns are all time favourite for most of us.This is one of the simple Stuffed Bun recipe which never fail.Here am sharing mixed vegetable masala stuffing,you can change the stuffing according to your taste.If you would like to have sweet stuffing then you can  check the recipe for Dil kush bun recipe here.



Stuffed (Vegetables) Buns | Masala Stuffed Buns

Ingredients:

3 cups Plain Flour
3 tbsp Butter at room temperature
1 tbsp Yeast
2 tbsp Sugar
1/2 cup Warm Milk
2 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Salt


For Stuffing:
2 potatoes,boiled and pealed
2 tbsp green peas( i used frozen peas)
1 carrot,grated
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 onion
1 tomato
1 tsp oil
1/3 tsp turmeric powder
Salt as needed

Method:

Stuffed Buns

  • Add the flour,yeast,sugar and salt in a mixing bowl.
  • Now add in the warm milk,butter and knead well,until the dough become smooth and elastic.Finally  add oil and knead well.
  • Wrap the dough and set aside until it  rise or double its size.

Stuffed Buns

  • In the meantime, prepare this stuffing.Heat the oil in the kadai and add the cumin seeds.Once the seeds splutter add in the chopped onion,tomato and salt then cook till it become soft.
  • Then add in the turmeric powder and salt,mix well.Finally add the boiled and mashed potato,grated carrot and green peas.Cook well.Now the Stuffing is ready.Remove it from the stove and let it cool for some time.

Stuffed Buns

  • Once the dough become doubled,punch it down and then divide the dough into equal sized balls.
  • Make the stuffing into small sized balls ,then keep the stuffing inside the dough and roll it like a ball.

Stuffed Buns

  • Grease the baking tin and arrange the balls. If your tin size is bigger then arrange every thing in one batch and bake,else you can do it by next batch also.
  • Again allow it to double in size. Apply a coating of milk or egg wash and bake in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes at 180 degree C.Once baked let it cool for few minutes in the tin itself and take it out.

My Notes:

  • Add little more warm milk if the dough is very stiff.Don’t add hot milk ,it will kill the yeast activity.
  • Let the stuffing cool down completely and then stuff it inside the bun.
