Tiffin sambar made with moong dal, no tamarind, no sambar powder, no grinding, very quick and easy sambar

Ingredients
½ cup moong dal
1 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp cumin seeds
2 dried red chilies
curry leaves
1 onion finely chopped
1 tomato chopped
3 green chilies chopped
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chili powder
1 cup of vegetables of your choice
2 cups of water
coriander leaves for Garnishing
Instructions
Soak ½ cup moong dal in water for 30 mins before cooking so that it will cook fast and soft.
Keep in Saute mode. add 1 tsp oil. add 1 tsp mustard seeds, ½ tsp cumin seeds. Let the seeds splutter.
Add 2 dried red chilies, curry leaves, 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped tomato, 3 green chilies, saute well.
add 1 tsp salt, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp chili powder saute well till the raw smell goes off.
add 1 cup of vegetables, 2 cups of water mix well.
Close the lid and make sure the vent is sealed.
Cancel the saute mode and set pressure cook for 10 mins.
After 10 mins, let the pressure release by itself and then open the lid.
Sambar is now ready to serve.
Serve hot sambar with idli, vada, dosa, Pongal.
Notes
soaking of moong dal helps the dal cook very fast. you can use vegetables of your choice, without vegetables also sambar tastes good. the Same recipe you can try with moong dal, but moong dal sambar needs tamarind.
