Soya Chunks Biryani Recipe, Marinated Meal Maker Biryani Tamil Style

Ingredients
  • To marinate Soya chunks
  • 2 cups of Soya Chunks
  • 3cups of Water for soaking the soya chunks
  • 2 tbsp Curd
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Homemade Biryani Masala
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • To make Biryani
  • 1 cup Basmati Rice - 1 Cup (250 Ml)
  • Water - 1½ Cups
  • 1 tsp Homemade Ghee
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 2 Clove
  • 2 Cardamom
  • 1-star anise
  • 2 Onion, Chopped
  • 2 Green Chilies, Chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger & Garlic
  • 2 Tomatoes grinded
  • a hand full Mint Leaves
  • Coriander Leaves for garnishing
  • Salt
Instructions
  1. Method
  2. Soak soya chunks in water for 15 mins
  3. Soak Basmati rice for 20 mins
  4. Squeeze the soya chunks and marinate it with curd, lime juice, red chili powder, turmeric powder, biryani masala, oil, salt.
  5. Let it sit for 20 mins
  6. Heat a pressure cooker with oil, add cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and roast them
  7. Add onions, green chilies and saute
  8. Add ground ginger garlic and saute them
  9. Add tomatoes puree or ground tomatoes and saute
  10. Add the soya chunks and cook for 5 mins
  11. Add mint leaves, salt and mix well
  12. Add the soaked rice and add enough water
  13. Pressure cook for 2 whistles and let it rest for 10 mins
  14. Serve the Soya chunks rice hot with some raita.
