Pressure cook the channa(kondakkadalai) little salt. The more we cook the channa, it becomes really soft.
In a mixie jar add coconut, roasted channa dal, green chilies, and fennel seeds. Add water and grind it to smooth paste.
Heat oil in a pan, add cinnamon stick, cardamom, cloves and fry for a minute.
Add the chopped onions and fry until they turn translucent. Now add the curry leaves, ginger- garlic paste and saute for a minute
Add the channa dal and salt. Add grounded coconut paste and water(I used the reserved water from the cooked channa), mix well.
cover and pressure cook for 1 or 2 whistles, switch off the stove.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Delicious channa kurma is ready to be served.
Notes
always cook the Kondakkadalai with a little salt and pressure cook at least 6-7 whistles for the best result.
