  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp jeera

  • 1 tsp chilly powder
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • ⅓ cups water
  • oil for frying
Instructions
  1. Take a cup maida in a wide bowl and then add ½ tsp salt. Now add the 1 tsp Jeera, 1 tsp ajwain and mix well.
  2. You can add the 1 tsp Chilly powder at this stage to make it spicy Namak Para or you can add ground chilies also. I skipped adding it since I made it for kids.
  3. Add 2 tbsp oil finally and crumble the flour well. Add water(approximately ⅓ cups) little by little, knead the dough well like a stiff dough. Once done cover it with a wet cloth and leave it for 10 mins.
  4. After that divide the dough into 2-3 batches and make large sized Chapati, using the rolling pins. Cut into your desired shapes like lengthy strips or kaju katli shape, with the sharp knife. Repeat this for next batches and cut them into stripes, make ready for frying.
  5. Heat the oil and deep fry the Namak Pare.Once it becomes golden brown and crispy, remove it from the stove.
  6. If you want to bake the strips, then arrange it on a greased baking tray and bake it for 20 mins at 160 degrees. Baked Namak Pare is Ready
Notes
1. According to your taste buds adjust the spiciness, salt.
2. always fry in low to medium flame. It will change color soon but won't be crispy.
